The Technology and Training (T&T) in Endourology was born in Torino (Italy) in 2011, from the desire of Dr. C. M. Scoffone to organize an event that he would have liked to attend himself. Thus, this course reflects the passion and personal commitment of the organizers, and year after year it has become a very dynamic meeting, and a platform of mutual enrichment between audience and keynote speakers on endourology.
Every year more than 100 participants gather in Torino for the T&T Meeting, providing plenty of opportunities for onsite cooperation and updating of technological and clinical knowledge.
The event has always been sponsored by very many companies (see flyers) and supported by the EULIS and ESUT subsections of EAU, as well as by IEA and SIU.
The 1st T&T took place in 2011, from November 10th to November 12th. The 70 attendees came from all over Italy and the official language was Italian, in spite of the presence of some international guests and Faculty experts.
The 2nd T&T took place in 2012, from November 8th to November 10th. The Faculty of experts was broadened, and out of the 80 attendees the vast majority came from Italy but some of them also from abroad. So slides were all prepared in English.
The 3rd T&T took place in 2013, from November 7th to November 9th. The Faculty of experts was rich and international, as well as the participants, therefore simultaneous translation was organized in order to easy communication and discussion.
The 4th T&T took place in 2014, from November 6th to November 8th. The scheme of the meeting was roughly always the same, with interactive discussion facilitated by the presence of a simultaneos translation service.
The 5th T&T took place in 2015, from November 11th to November 13th. From this year onwards the official language was only English, because of the international footprint acquired by the event.
The 6th T&T will take place in 2016, from September 22nd to September 23rd. This will be a special edition under many respects: in fact it will be preceeded by a 2-day EULIS Workshop on Stone Treatment, from September 20th to September 21st. For the first time continuous sessions of Hands-On-Training for upper and lower urinary tract with tutors will be present, and Live Surgeries will alternate with Recorded Surgeries, enriching the landscape of surgical approaches.
The great innovation of this year is the additional introduction of continuous Hand-On-Training sessions with training models and dedicated tutors, both for stone and BPH endoscopic techniques.
